Greetings, and thank you for visiting my site!
I'm Mike on a good day (Michael, if I’m in trouble).
I have worked as graphic designer since 2010. On the side, I enjoy photography and, occasionally, fine-art painting, music, woodworking and creative writing.
I was born and raised in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, which is where I attended high school and discovered my talents for painting, acting, singing, and writing. The bachelor of science in business degree I earned at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management has opened many doors for me in my largely art-based career, and I am thankful for it. While at the U of M, I pursued the development of my creative writing by taking four semesters of poetry workshops with wonderful instructors such as the venerable Michael Dennis Browne. Since graduation, I have been involved in a real estate photography small-business start-up and worked as a school bus driver for a time, but have primarily worked as a graphic designer for individuals and organizations in the fields of financial services, cake decorations, small town insurance, non-profit, health care, and more.
My wife and I, along with our two daughters and two sons, have a homebase in the Princeton/Elk River area of Minnesota, which is where we can be found in the summers. For the rest of the time, we travel the United States in our 36-foot travel trailer, road schooling, visiting national parks and other points of historical interest and the like.
